Our Policies and Goals... for Force
Force is one of the regions in which the SDU is thriving as well as one of the many regions we care about. With a partnership with the Force Federalist Party, we are dedicated to improving the bipartisanship of all parties in the Union. But it's not about who we are partners with or who we don't support, but rather its about holding them accountable for their actions in government. Here are some policies we have in mind for Force's SDU...
Constitutional Reforms
When we say Constitutional Reforms, we don't mean amending it. We mean rewriting the rules. Our system of government is generally under the satisfaction of our Citizens, but some would beg to differ. With a lack of the check on power, and branch of government could easily intercept the civil and political freedoms of our Union. Our way of organising our Territories and horrendously unitary, and we must advocate for more autonomy.
We propose a new system of government, one that is federal, democratic, and one that works for everyone. We want to establish a Unicameral Parliament, in which the lower house will be elected proportionally using MMP (Mixed-Member Proportional Voting), with the upper house being single-member seats which will be elected using STV (Single-Transferable Voting). We feel that this Parliament should have the ability to question the actions of it's government whether being the majority or the opposition.
We also propose in establishing a legal system in which is designed to encourage good behaviour, and not maximize punishments (unless your Louise, then you deserve a ban periodt). We want a judicial system in which are qualified people, elected by the people, to ensure fair and equal justice. We advocate for Social Justice, and we believe in advocating for equality under the Law. The Supreme Court is meant to interpret the Law, not punish those for breaking it.
We also advocate for creating an elected executive branch. We do not support founders being "Leader for Life", for which we support equal opportunity instead. We want to create an image of democratically elected leaders in not just our Executive branch, but also our Legislature and Judicial branch.
